Xcalumkin

Its name means “Fertile soil exposed to the Sun.” The settlement was established in a valley in the Preclassic period, becoming, centuries later, an important city in the Puuc region.

We begin the tour with the building called The Palace of the Cylinders, which is the largest structure on the site. A short distance away is the House of the Great Lintel, with three rooms and where a huge engraved monolithic lintel stands out.

In the front you can see a standing individual, dressed in a feather headdress, a spear and a circular shield; On the other side is a series of eight glyphic cartouches flanked by faces in profile with feather headdresses and circular earflaps.
