{"id":585,"date":"2023-04-17T07:14:13","date_gmt":"2023-04-17T07:14:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gomundomaya.com\/\/?p=585"},"modified":"2023-04-17T07:14:14","modified_gmt":"2023-04-17T07:14:14","slug":"altun-ha","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gomundomaya.com\/en\/altun-ha\/","title":{"rendered":"Altun HA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The archaeological site of\u00a0<strong>Altun Ha<\/strong>\u00a0It is located on a plain relatively close to the coast and the current city of Belize. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its Temple A-1 is notable because it housed the \u201cGreen Tomb\u201d, with a funerary trousseau of more than 300 pieces of jade. The largest building on the site, known as Temple B-4 or Temple of the Masonry Altars, is 18 m high and has 8 construction stages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inside, seven tombs of important figures were found, the most important being Tomb B-4\/7, which contained within its offerings a jade effigy of the head of the solar god K&#039;inich Ajaw, which with its weight of 10 pounds is the largest jade artifact known from the Mayan Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote td_quote_box td_box_center is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>You, birds, will live on the trees and the vines, there you will make your nests, there you will multiply, there you will shake in the branches of the trees and the vines.
